Garland S. Doyle M.P.A. CNP was appointed Interim City Clerk by the City Council on October 29, 2018. He previously served as the Deputy Director for Community & Economic Development in Pontiac. Also, he has been an administrator for the City of Detroit.
A result-driven leader with experience in community/economic development, fundraising, grants management, health & human services, local government, low-income housing, nonprofit administration, place-based philanthropy research, program evaluation and public policy advocacy. Doyle has led a team of 12 professional managers. His budgetary responsibilities have ranged from $500,000 - $40 million.
In addition, Doyle is an adjunct college lecturer and a certified nonprofit professional (CNP).
Doyle holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management from Eastern Michigan University. His Bachelor of Arts degree is from Wayne State University.
